Our 2012 Christmas was both fun and simple. We make a point not to overload the kids with gifts which makes the shopping quite easy. The big kids got bikes thanks to Santa (and Craigslist)! The baby got diapers, bibs, puff snacks, and a toothbrush. (Did you realize Santa was so practical?) To try to keep Sarah off the iPhone, we got her an appropriate kid camera that takes pictures, videos and has a few games. Layton got a marble run which so far seems to be a hit! I went "shopping" in our attic for baby toys for Eli. He's happy playing with what Sarah and Layton used to play when they were his age.
