Take it to the pond

Chad has recently built a small pond in our backyard. Layton can't seem to resist throwing things in the pond. The "things" are usually the rocks surrounding the pond or any outdoor toys he can locate. Chad so far is very protective of his beloved pond and scolds Layton for throwing things in there. However, daddy is not always around and as you'll see from the pictures, Layton is branching out with what he throws into the pond. I think I have a pretty good idea of what was going on in his head.

Something must go in the pond so I'll just rip off this iron door here and throw that in.

Let's get it up on these rocks now. (in the lower left hand corner you can see the metal structure that Layton pulled the door off of)

Throw it in!

I'm quite pleased with myself.

Oh yes, that was definitely loads of fun!

And there she lay.

Hmmm, I wonder what should be thrown in next?

A good reason to wear sunscreen

I'm beginning to think there are some disadvantages to having a 2 year old who is so expressive. You've already read about the comment she made about my legs. Now here's a new one! Some days ago, Sarah was looking at my face and said, "Mommy, you've got dirt on your face". I take my hand and try to wipe the dirt away, but nothing is coming off. What she was actually referring to was the sun damage on my face that has really become noticeable in the last couple of years. Oh, if I only knew then what I know now. I might just have put on some sunscreen during my teen years rather than rubbing on baby oil to attract the sun.
