Playing by the creek

On Sunday, the children and I went to my parents house. We spent a little time down at the creek. Surprisingly, neither one of the kids got too dirty. I had even brought a change of clothes for the occasion.

They grabbed rocks by the handfuls...

...and threw them into the water.

Sarah was kind enough to show me the shiniest rocks she could find.

Sarah can only do so much nature. In an attempt to entertain herself (and anyone standing around her), she breaks out into a song and dance.

Then asks me, "Mommy, do I look like little green riding hood?"

As we were leaving the creek, I pointed out some deer tracks to Sarah Meredith (Layton had already fled the scene). She then pointed to these footprints and remarked, "Yea, Mommy and these are monkey prints!"

Bedtime for Layton

It's time for Layton to go to bed. Evidently, he has other plans. I can hear him jumping on the bed and laughing about something. After awhile it gets quiet so I decide to go check on him. I walk into his room and find...

Pajamas

Underwear

A sweet five year old boy sleeping peacefully.....naked!

Remember I mentioned he was jumping on the bed? Layton's bed is pushed up against a window with no blinds. It faces the main road of our neighborhood. It was night time and he had the light on. Get the picture? I'm sure the neighbors loved seeing that!
